Vermont in the Fall

Time to switch coasts now. Always wanted to see Vermont during the changing of the leaves and finally it is happening. Easy flight from Phoenix to Manchester NH pick up the rental car at 10PM, drive an hour to Hanover NH for a luxurious stay at the Day's Inn and viola!

The next morning fall in is the air definitely, the fog is still close to the ground and the sun is trying real hard to burn it off. On the road at 9AM for the 2 hour drive to the Waldman estate, with the famous Walden Pond...err that is Waldman Pond...see pic.

Heading north for the further I go, the more the more vibrant the fall colors. Taking the Stowe exit on to Vt route 100, I can look down the valley and see a dusting of last night's snow on Mount Mansfield. Quite a sight, with the sky now clear but for a few puffy clouds and the colors incredibly brilliant. You can't believe there are so many colors of red and orange and gold! The pics can't do justice to the sight.

I know we are getting close to our final destination as I pass my favorite landmark, the Ben and Jerry's factory.

Arrive around 10:30 grab a quick bite and then it's off to a great walk passing several of the local farms and enjoying the Sunshine...
